Matt Blagg’s music crosses not only the boundaries of musical genre, but also those of age, culture and perspectives. Matt ‘s music brings friends and families together in a fun and upbeat way.
Matt delivers a unique blend of styles he calls "Blue-eyed Soul". Not just a singer, this musician blends top-shelf musicianship and poignant songwriting to light up any listener. "It makes life better when we can laugh, cry, and dance together," Matt says. "That's what my shows are all about."
From coffeehouses to Nashville theaters to quiet chapels, Matt brings down the house. He has played for Aretha Franklin, the Temptations, The Fours Tops, The Drifters, The Tommy Dorsey Big Band, and he has toured Europe with the Continental Brass & Singers. A frequent guest in Memphis, Matt has appeared at the W.C. Handy Blues Awards, and the King Biscuit Blues Festival. He has performed at B.B. King's Blues Club and recorded at the House of Blues recording studio in Memphis as well.
But in the end, it's not the fancy venues that draw Matthew, it's the people. Matt has been involved with Bill Glass "Behind The Walls" prison ministry since 1997. I want to spread God’s Amazing Love around this world that needs more of it”, Blagg says As Matt puts it "We'll go anywhere there's oxygen."
